This privacy policy describes how the Smart Energy app is collection and using information. In general, when interacting with the Amazon Echo verbal utterances are processed by the device. However, Smart Energy only has access to the relevant information for the functionality of the Ecobee and the MySmartE tablet application. The information captured by the device include temperatures, modes, ecobee functions, and durations. This information account-specific and not publicly accessible.
In order to use this application, you must be in the study which accompanies the MySmartE application. As such, you must already have an ecobee account which is connected to the MySmartE database. This is a privately available application which is only available to participants in the MySmartE study.
We do not collect personal information in this application. We do record usage of the Ecobee through the Smart Energy application. However, this data is limited to the elements described above (e.g. temperatures, modes, etc)/
